The
DPI team arrived in Burton-on-Trent town centre at approximately 16:00
hours and took the opportunity to continue the exploration of the
photograph taken of the monk, during the previous weeks investigation. To
aid us in our investigation we had printed a copy of the photograph on a
transparency and were able to line up the exact position from where the
photograph had been taken from. Close examination of the area and further
photographs showed no further signs of the monk or any possible
explanation for the apparition previously recorded. Following our exploration of the Memorial Gardens we decided to make a daylight trip over to Andressy Island and on our journey over, met the family from a local public house who told us of a couple of strange occurrences that had happened to them in their pub during the last week. We hope to evaluate this information shortly and will report on it during a later investigation. After our look both at and from the island back towards the Memorial Gardens and where the abbey would once have stood, we made our way back across the river to meet up with the rest of the team. |

Unfortunately as we were leaving the Island the weather took a turn for the worst and after a short stay in a bus shelter where Chris told us of some of the local haunted locations we were forced to take refuge in a local hostelry. It was during this time that an extraordinary coincidence came to light. Chris and Tracey told us of their experiences at home during the past week, which proved to be almost identical to those related to us by the publican earlier in the day. As we have earlier stated, we will not at this time report on the nature of these incidents as they could possibly be related to other external forces or conditions and would hate to influence a small minority of people coming forward and saying “Yes that happened to me too”, therefore making our validation more difficult. |

| As there were only two of the members of Derwent Paranormal Investigators available for tonight’s investigation we decided that safety in numbers was the order of the day and accompanied the Burton Ghost Walk on it’s Sunday tour. We used our time to take a full audio recording of the whole event, which requires to be downloaded and analysed. As this recording is in excess of an hour and a quarter in length and the ghost walk takes place on the busy streets of Burton-on-Trent there may be a considerable delay in bringing you our findings. | ||||
| Analysis | ||||
| We have started to analise the audio recording taken during the ghost walk and have so far uncovered this rather disturbing clip which has been extracted from a full 15 seconds of similar audio. We were unaware of it's existence until we attempted to clean up the whole clip. An extended version of this EVP is available to members of the PICOUK Forum in the Audio section. | ||||
