Not all of our paranormal investigations involve sitting in a dark creepy location waiting to either see or feel something, which hopefully you will catch on camera. On occasions you have to go and collect specific data or just revisit a particular place just to verify previously collected information. With only two personnel available for this investigation we decided to concentrate our efforts on two specific objectives: The first of these was to try and locate as accurately as possible the location where the EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) was recorded during the ghost walk during the previous week. As we still had the full recording of the ghost walk on the digital audio recorder we used this to trace our steps and note the location where the EVP started. We then counted the clearly audible footsteps as far as the next point where the ghost walk guide gave his next spiel, moved to that point, and walked back the appropriate number of steps down the route. This bought us to within 10 feet of the same point. This location is now a car showroom but was originally built as a fire station in 1905. Our second objective of the night was to try and plot the exact location of some of the hauntings on the walk, as they appeared to be on the same alignment. Using GPS (Global Satellite Positioning) technology we noted the positions of the hauntings. This data will later be transferred onto a graph, with the line extended to allow us to check if other reportedly haunted locations, such as Andressey Island, fall in the same alignment. As we are already aware, these hauntings are also in alignment with the location of the abbey so what better way of trying to detect a possible ley line in a built up area such as Burton-on-Trent? |

After further analysis of the audio recording taken during the ghost walk last week we have managed to transcribe more of the EVP which lasts approximately 15 seconds as well as further audio some 8 minutes later on which pleads us not to leave. With this in mind we once again joined the ghost walk for both its sessions with our audio recording equipment to try the same experiment again. During the second of these walks it was noted by all the nights participants, that an empty flagstaff that is mounted on top of the haunted building in question was shaking vigorously. The organisers have told us that this is the second time during a ghost walk that this particular phenomenon has occurred. A check of other flagstaffs in the area showed there to be barely a light breeze with flags hanging almost limp. The audio footage from tonight’s event will be analysed in due course. |
