Private House

East Staffordshire

The house is in located East Staffordshire and is an old Victorian one occupied by a family of five, mother, father and three children aged between eight and fifteen. The investigation was arranged at the request of the family, who had been hearing voices, feeling cold spots and suffering with poltergeist activity. Chris and Eleanor visited the house to discuss the activity, there was a small cupboard on a wall in the lounge behind a chair used by the mother. The mother would often feel someone or something stroking her hair and the area was always cold, the following photograph was taken showing a strange anomaly in front of the cupboard.

Investigation

First impressions from everyone were very impressive, some low level noise all over the building was noted & commented on, but lots of energy & several presences were felt in the rooms most of them oppressive at first. I also heard children’s voices & Eleanor saw the mother reflected in a mirror when she was actually down stairs. All this was just on a tour of the house. The red room in particular gave everyone some ill feeling along with certain spots in the end bedroom.

Tour

During the initial tour of the property to take base line readings we took the opportunity to take photographs and the following two were taken consecutively in the dining room. On the first a small orb can be seen on the back of Chris, in the second it appears to have moved to the wall above his head.

Present.

Weather

Dry and fairly mild.

Base line.

Mostly as expected but while doing them there seemed to be some thing following us round as some freak readings were noted that could not be reproduced. Incredibly high readings coming from a plasma ball up to 2 meters around it which also could be read in the adjacent room. Temperature varied in each room & several cold spots were found that disappeared & reappeared.

Whilst we were dowsing a digital audio recorder was put on the coffee table to record the session, none of the dowsers were aware of this at the time. After we had finished we listened to the recording and after question six ‘Do you mimic people? Two voices can be clearly heard, a male one saying “yes” followed by a female one saying “no”.

We received approximately 70% corroboration in answers. As you can see one dowser got a consistent n/a from the session which lead us to believe he was not in contact or the spirits did not want to talk with him as in a warm up session he was getting answers.

Séance in dining room

Baseline readings on starting, EMF normal temperature was constant at 18-18.5 degrees.

Contact made with:

1. Dr Robert Flanagan - The doctor doesn’t like mixing with women, he had enough of that with his wife, and he believes their place is barefoot and pregnant. He lived mainly in the rooms at the back of the house and his bedroom is the room that is now used b the eldest son. At one stage in the séance the doctor appeared to put a blood pressure cuff on the mother as her arm began to hurt and she appeared to get a little distressed.  The doctor also does not like going into the middle son’s bedroom, as that is where the malevolent male (5) spirit is mainly to be found.
    

2. Former family dog (name withheld).
    

3. Christopher - who was a groom and died in a riding accident in the area where the house was later built.
    

4. Maggie – was a nanny in the house, she looked after children, did a little cleaning and cooking. Maggie admitted that she broke a glass that was one of a pair on the shelf because she was sick of cleaning them; both Eleanor and Karl heard this at the same time. When the family children are not at home Maggie brings spirit children home with her and they can be heard running around.
    
5. Unknown male spirit – this spirit was unfriendly and did not want us there, he was brought home by one of the older sons, from a friends house where an ouija board session was held. He attached himself to their son, as he is sensitive. This male did not want to communicate with us he also likes causing damage.
    
6. Small slim elderly woman – who looks to be in her mid sixties was wearing a lovely green dress and had short curly hair. She has come to look after Phillip due to family trouble that is going on, she said she is his aunt and would give me no further details as I am not a family member and it is none of my business. She occasionally stands in the bathroom doorway when the mother is in the bath to ensure she is safe and admitted responsibility for breaking fairies in the bedroom when she tried to remove a horrible purple thing off the shelf.
    
7. Towards the end of the séance an old lady was smelt by Karl in the area on a chair situated in the corner, she is associated with the suite and if she takes a shine to you she will disguise the smell with lavender, Phillip stated that he had smelt lavender when sitting on the chair.

Temperature dropped down by 4 degrees under the table to 14 degrees at one point, with slight EMF readings. When The Mother asked why her glass was broken Karl had an urge to say, "I’m sick of cleaning the damn things” just as Eleanor actually said it. The mother had someone squeezing her arm Mark also felt this. The mother also had someone leaning on her shoulders.

While Karl was sat in front of the door he had the feeling that someone entered the room, Eleanor said a man had come into the room at the time.

On closing the circle yet again the temperature rose almost immediately to 18 degrees back to where it started.

Séance 2 in middle child’s bedroom

Baseline readings on starting, EMF normal and temperature was constant 17.5-18 degrees.

Contact made with: -

1. Dr Robert Flanagan: - The mother and father both asked why they often woke up with backache, the doctor said “new fangled modern beds” and when the father asked about his shoulder Robert suggested he use Wintergreen!
    

2. Christopher: - he informed us he was thrown by a stallion and died of head injuries; he admitted he often passes his pain onto people in the house to let them know he is there. Christopher also said he has gone with the father in his van to work; the picture he gave Eleanor was of a tall old house that had a long banister that he liked to slide down. He has been seen by and old lady who was sitting at a desk, she told him to stop and go back where he was supposed to be.  The father later confirmed that he regularly visited a nursing home that fitted the description given.
    

3. A big older woman: - she is the grandmother of the mother and strokes her hair when she is feeling upset.
    

4. The former family dog: - sat under the table on Eleanor’s foot with his head on the mothers knee

Temperature dropped in some places & rose in others EMF stayed much the same. This seemed to be a very calming séance Mark saw visions of a nursery with a wooden floor with a mat & a cot Eleanor saw the same room with a large wooden rocking chair in the corner, but not the cot.
