9 Did you die in March or April Yes Yes No No Can't Answer
10 Do you know who Queen Victoria is? Yes No No No Yes
This was the largest number of members we had ever dowsed with in one session. As one would expect with such a large number of people the answers were varied with not one question getting a common answer.

With such a large number of people dowsing, we also relaxed our procedure and let the dowsers record their own answers, as there weren't enough people left to record the answers for them. Although this may or may not have had an effect on the concentration of the Dowsers, it also ruined the chances of getting any EVP as the recordings were corrupted with the picked up the picking up and putting down of both crystals and pencils.

Session 1

During this recording session we vacated and locked up the premises to prevent the chance of any accidental noises being picked up from the team. Two of the team retired to the car park whilst the rest of us moved to a local hostelry. At about 23:00 two of us returned and moved a vehicle to the front of the Gaol to note any significant noises from Friargate.

At 23:30 we spotted the remainder of the team heading back and returned our vehicle to the car park and our other two colleagues at the rear of the Gaol. After a couple of minutes wait we secured the vehicles and started making our way back up the path.

At approximately 10 metres away from the back door, three of us noticed a shadow move across inside the gaol in the far right window. Assuming that the rest of the team had made their way back in to the premises we waited at the back door to be let in.

After two or three minutes the back door finally opened and we made our way back in. We queried why it had taken so long for them to open the door and were informed had only just come back in the front door.

In order to try and replicate the shadow seen through the window, the four of us went back outside whilst another team member moved around the Gaol. We discovered the only way that the shadow could be replicated was by someone standing up between the table and the bench where the remote temperature sensor, audio recorder and ultra violet light were located (8, 9, & 10) on the plan. It would appear that something obstructed the path between the ultra violet light and a large white, A0 sized, poster on the back wall, which was reflecting back out through the window. Later examination of the videotape from location 5, with an external microphone attached at location 6, verified the time that the team had entered via the front door. However, the microphone also picked up the word “Coming” about three minutes earlier.

During the final recording session of the night we sat in the museum area where a quiet conversation ensued.

The subject eventually got round to ghosts and one on the team members who lives with a resident ghost asked what would happen if they were to move into a haunted house. Their resident had been with them in all three of the houses they had lived in, (it appears to have become part of the family). Which spirit would prevail, the one in the property or the one linked to them? Another member jokingly said that if one was female and the other male, they would end up with baby ghosts. The general lighthearted consensus was that they would probably end up with another Casper.

After recording had finished several digital photographs were taken and on later inspection this picture was found. Remembering that earlier on in the evening we had created a lot of dust nobody was surprised to see orbs on a photograph. However on closer inspection on zooming in on what appears to be a cluster of orbs, imagine our surprise, there smiling at us was Casper. Should this just be put down to pure coincidence or was something having a laugh with or at us?

After all, what are the odds of capturing dust particles in this configuration?

Temperature readings from 2nd session

Although a new tape had been used in the video camera and the battery was still charged, the camera switched itself off at 1:46am
