| Normally, we try to restrict the contents of our reports to incidents that are either caught on camera, video or audio and not include what individuals feel, hear or see. On this occasion though, I make no apologies for making exceptions. | |||||

15:00 - 15:32 The first of the team arrived on site at 3:00pm and set up a video camera outside the rear of the gaol, facing the current back door and a now bricked up door adjacent to it.

Our reasoning behind this was that a couple of years ago, at approximately 3:20pm the owner, Richard Felix, was in the kitchen, inside the Gaol, talking on the phone to a colleague, when he saw a misty shadow walk past from the Friargate entrance. Upon investigation he found himself to be alone in the Gaol. Also, on the 29th September after having publicity photographs taken by the local media, at the Gaol, we were just vacating the premises at 3:20pm, when one of our members looked back and remarked that she thought she saw, out of the corner of her eye, a grey mist passing through the bricked up doorway. Normally as a paranormal investigative group we would have totally discounted such an event, having had no recorded proof. However, another member, who was still in the gaol, ran out screaming as she had witnessed the mist entering into the gaol through the wall. Although the video camera recorded for about 30 minutes we were unable to capture anything on this occasion.

We took the opportunity of the early start to obtain reasonably accurate dimensions of the gaol using an ultrasonic measure. It was noted though, that after passing through the centre of the main corridor, the distance measured reduced by some two to three meters, even though the measure was well within it’s working range and was pointing at a flat surface with a totally uninterrupted line of sight. On passing back over the centre point and facing in the other direction, the same anomaly was noted. This experiment was repeated on another visit and yielded the same results. We have no plausible explanation for this. |

Orbs, caught on digital cameras, are more often than not caused by pollen or dust. Whilst waiting for the last few members of the team to arrive we conducted an experiment in the debtor’s cell, to generate some orbs from dust particles. This consisted of repeatedly hitting the sacking on the bed whilst photographs were taken with various digital cameras for comparison purposes.
